Fishing Reports

3/3/2010 Spring Steelhead fishing on the Muskegon River and Grand River is about to go crazy . If you're looking for a good time to start next week should be it. A few Steelhead are being caught in Grand Haven and Muskegon off the channel walls. That will increase ten fold with the rain we have coming this weekend.

Don't forget Detroit River Walleye fishing is about to start up. April and May are the best times to fish the Detroit River. We will be running Walleye jigging trips during both of those months.  5 hour jigging trips for 1 to 3 guys is only 300. All fishing tackel and bait is included.

2/8/2010 Muskegon Lake Fishing Report
Perch fishing slowed down over the weekend. I would expect it to pick back up. After the storm we have coming through finishes up it should be a good time to get out.
Steelhead fishing has been good in the Muskegon river the last few days. The  river might be in pretty bad shape if we get  all of the snow they say we have coming.

2/6/2010 Muskegon Ice Fishing Report
Ice fishing ice picking back up on White Lake for Perch at the West end of the Lake. Fisherman are doing well on Northern Piek on tip ups on White Lake and Muskegon lake as wll. Second Street ice is still questionable so be careful. Ice fishing on Muskegon lake is still hit or miss unless you wan tto go after panfish. Fisherman are doing ok at Snug Harbor and the Coservation Cub. Most of our fishing trips have been for Panfish and Perch Trips . I'll begin to post more fishing pictures as I get this site to load better. Pictures are dragging it down so bad people are hardly able to view the site.

1/28/2010 Muskegon River Fishing Report
Muskegon River White River and Pentwater Rivers are all holding a good number of new fish. Before last Saturday's  run off the bite was on. Good numbers of steelhead and better than average in size. I would think by the end of this week. Steelhead fisherman should have optimal conditions to venture back out. The only hang up might be Ice flows with the colder temps predicted.  Hard to say if we will get all of the cold weather they are calling for.

1/25/2010 Fresca Lake Fishing Report
Ice fished Fresca lake near Greenville Michigan yesterday. 10 inches of good ice. Absolutley slammed the Crappie and Bluegills . The funning thing is the fish feed during the day . The fish shut down at prime time for panfish. I consider the last hour of light prime time.

1/24/2010  Manistee Lake Fishing Report

Ice Fished Manistee lake today. Guys had been catching good size Perch on the West end of the lake . Out  off the point in front Sengs has been great fishing. We couldn't get out there due to questionable ice. We ended up going out of East Lake Park boat launch. Just to the south in thirty feet of water.  Lots of ice about 12 inches total .Good size Perch and a few Crappie. We ended up with 40 nice Perch in 3 hours. Took us a while to figure out the better fish wanted very small minnows.

1/23/2010 Little Glen lake Fishing Report

Ice Fished Little Glen lake today. The bite was slow. We caught most of our fish on mousies and spikes on tear drops. Caught a few decent Perch but very hit and miss. We found the best thing to do with the clear water was use a jigging spoon on one rod to bring them in and fish for them with something small when they show up. People had been doing better on pike but that was slow as well. Only saw one northern caught and one more flag.

1/21/2010 Pan fish have been slow in many of the lakes done for bluegills and crappie . Cranberry Lake has been on fire all week. Reeds lake in grand rapids has been going off as well.  Most lakes are still producing fish but the bite is short. I ice fished Acre Lake up near Freemont and the bite lasted for 15 minutes. A few walleye on Silver lake in Oceana county on tip ups . Try fishing along the East shoreline in 14 feet of water.  Use big blues for minnows and hook them as lightly as possible so they don't get stressed. Perch Fishing was ok today. Running trips this weekend up on Big Glen lake this weekend for Perch. Six inches of good ice.

1/20/2010 Perch Fishing on Muskeogn Lake was good today. Ice conditions are musch better with the cooler nights. 30 foot of water out in front of Cottage Grove marina was the ticket. Smaller baits with Red Spikes were the way to go.

1/18/2010 Ice Fishing on White Lake is producing better size Perch than Muskegon. Average size keep is right around nine inches. CranBerry Lake is about the only lake producing good catches of bluegills and crappie. Hamlin lake along with McClaren continue to be slow for panfish. A few walleye are being taken on Silver lake in Oceana county. The bite is short like always . The last 40 minutes of light is best.

6/6/08 Grand Haven Salmon Fishing and Muskegon Salmon fishing is picking up. Fishing in 90 feet of water 60 down from Grand Haven to Muskegon has been productive. Straigh out from Mona Lake has been very good.Flashers and flys have been working well. Bass fishing in Fremont Lake, Muskegon lake,White Lake is still ver consistant. The big bass have mostley moved of the beds but smaller males are still in 10 feet of less. Perch Fishing out of Msukeogn out from North Shore beach in 65 of water has been best. Walleye's in the Grand River are hit and miss for most guys just popping out. Beause we have been fishing 4 to 5 days a week we cosntiantly pull fish but not in any big numbers. Lots of Catfish and just about everything else but only averaging 3 to 6 walleye's a trip.

6/2/08  Muskegon Salmon fishing and Grand Haven Salmon has been slow .The water is still cold so the warmer weather ahead is going to help. Grand Haven fishing for Walleye is picking up as well. Several large fish over the last week have been taken in the Grand River. We ended up with a few walleye over ten pounds. The best walleye bite is yet to come. Trolling Crank baits and drifting live bait have been working.
Fishing Muskeogn is been productive for bass and perch . A few northern pike as well. Walleye Fishing is starting to slow down in the Muskegon Channel.Night Walleye fishing is still producing a few fish.

5/26/08 Fishing Muskegon has been hit and miss for Walleye after dark. Rough nights off the pierheads has been best fishing 10 to 15 feet down. We have been pulling good numbers of fish beacuse we are out 3 to 5 nights a week helps. Fishing Grand Haven is picking up with the warmer water temps but they are 10 degrees cooler than last year. We are taking good numbers of walleye . We ended up with one over ten pounds the other day. Salmon fishing in Grand Haven and Muskegon continue to be slow. White Lake and Silver Lake are producing a few Waleyes trolling crawlers.

4/28/08 Muskegon Fishing Report
Good Numbers of perch still comming  from the West end of Muskegon lake. Spikes on White River Flies working best.
Good Numbers of Walleyes are showing up in Muskegon as well. Trolling Stick baits. We ended up with two limits over the weekend on our last trip out. Steelhead in the muskegon is slower most fish are coming off the Gravel. We had a good night the other night. I couldn't say for sure but our clients hooked close to two dozen fish using small nymph's under indicators. We all had a ball.

Grand Haven fishing Report
Grand haven fishing is picking up . Perch fishing is good when you can get out on lake Michigan ,Walleye fishing in the Grand River is picking up but is still slow due to the cold front. Salmon fishing has been good but the wind has been an issue over the last few days.

4/4/08 Good numers of fish are being taken in the little Manistee but lots of people around doesn't seem to matter where you go. Detroit River is high but not to Mudddy so verticle jigging near metro park is fair to good. Muskegon river Steelhead action took off today. Many fish shot straight up to the Croton dam area. Crank baits produced good numbers today with the dirty water. Grand River from 6th street to Weathy street is fishable but the fish are holding in weird placed due to high water. People covering  water with very large bags under floats were pulling good numbers most of the morning.

3/8/08 Muskegon lake is startign to open up just in time to catch a few big Walleye's before the season closes. We have been catching several fish each time out over the last few days. Nothing over ten pounds yet but the next several days should be great.
2/2/08 Muskegon River produced several fish today but Steelhead are still scattered. Covering water seams to be the ticket.

2/1/08 Ice fishing around Hess lake and Fremont lake today, Fishing was slow but managed to pull a good mess of Big Blue GIlls and some Specs. We landed several undersized walleye as well. Good Ice conditions but Weatherman is callign for rain tomorrow.
